In our pursuit to industry standard information security accreditation, we have pushed ourselves to the next level by undergoing Service and Organisation Controls (SOC) audits for SOC 1 Type 2 and SOC 2 Type 2 compliance. We are pleased to announce that our consistent commitment to information security policies, practices and procedures in Tarantula have been recognized by the international auditor body, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). Tarantula has passed the comprehensive SOC 1 Type 2 and SOC 2 Type 2 audits and has been awarded with the corresponding SOC 1 Type 2 and SOC 2 Type 2 certifications.
What is SOC 1 Type 2 and SOC 2 Type 2 compliance?
System and Organization Controls (SOC) is the suite of reports produced during an information security audit as defined by the AICPA. These reports help information systems and service organizations like Tarantula to showcase and validate internal controls over the information systems and services that are provided to their customers. The reports focus on Trust Service Principles such as Privacy, Security, Availability, Processing Integrity, and Confidentiality related to the information systems and processes in place.
Specifically, a SOC 1 Type 2 report is an internal control audit for financial reporting, intended to showcase the quality status of Tarantula’s internal controls to customers and their auditors in the areas of risk management, logical access, change management, data security, and data availability.
Similarly, a SOC 2 Type 2 report is an internal control report that primarily focuses on how Tarantula safeguards customer’s data and how well those controls are in place. It is intended to showcase the quality status of Tarantula’s internal controls in the areas of information security, availability, confidentiality, and data privacy.
These industry-standard information security accreditations help further strengthen the trust our customers place in our products and services. Our responsibility does not end here with these audits.
