Reflecting on 2023: A Year in Review
As we stand on the threshold of a new year, it is both an honour and a privilege to reflect on the remarkable journey that Tarantula has undertaken over the past twelve months. 2023 has been a year full of exciting milestones, insightful conversations, and building new connections, and I can’t wait to see what 2024 brings.
Our commitment to information security
The highlight of the year was receiving the ISO certification, specifically ISO 27001:2022, for our software which recognizes our steadfast commitment to excellence and adherence to global information security standards. This accomplishment speaks volumes about our collective dedication to maintaining the highest degree of quality towards information security, cyber security, and data privacy.
Reinforcing partnerships - old and new
2023 was a year of forging new partnerships and strengthening old ones.
The year started with a bang when we onboarded our latest customer – a fast-growing towerco operating in 4 markets in Africa. The towerco teams will be able to leverage Red Cube’s best-practice workflows with end-to-end site lifecycle management capabilities available to digitalize their site operations and gain efficiencies of scale.
Not to leave our other long-time partners behind, our operations and implementation teams have been busy at work delivering, maintaining, and enhancing the product capabilities for them. Streamlining processes, optimizing workflows, and embracing technological advancements have been pivotal in enhancing operational excellence and profitability for our customers. The concerted efforts of our implementation teams have ensured that we deliver with unparalleled quality and timeliness.
This year, we continued in our ongoing efforts to build strong connections with technology partners – SAP, PowerX, vHive, iLoq, and Aerodyne to name a few – in order to provide a comprehensive systems landscape to our customers. Ensuring that our customers can get the benefit of best-in-class tools for their requirements enables us to provide value-added services to them. We also deployed our open API framework that enables us to integrate with disparate third-party applications that may exist in complex IT ecosystems.

Staying ahead of what the tower industry requires and helping our customers grow with enterprise-grade software continues to drive Tarantula’s product and customer satisfaction strategy. We participated in as well as sponsored industry tradeshows including Towerxchange (across the globe) and ConnectX helped us extend our connections within the tower industry as well as drive insightful conversations about digital transformation trends. Being part of round-table discussions and panels that focused on green energy initiatives, densification and 5G expansion strategies, diversification into adjacent revenue streams, were all food for thought for our product team.
Our commitment to product innovation and customer satisfaction continues to fortify our position in the market. Each customer ask for a new feature or capability was a catalyst for learning, prompting us to evaluate, innovate, and evolve. We continued to grow our product capabilities by introducing new features such as custom project management capabilities, customer portal, document search, OCR for document-based data capture, multi-tenancy, and more. Moreover, the Field Force mobile app was upgraded with additional features such as geo-fencing and single sign-on.

Our most valuable asset, our employees, have been the driving force behind our success. Their dedication, and unwavering commitment to our shared vision have been the cornerstone of Tarantula’s achievements. We invested in comprehensive training programs that not only upskill our workforce but also empower individuals to thrive in a dynamic business environment. We recognized and awarded exceptional talent with our quarterly star awards. Last but not least, we celebrated and reflected on our success during the annual Connect 2023 event – a star-studded extravaganza with performances from our team members and insights from the group leadership team.
As the year comes to a close, I take this opportunity to personally thank each and every customer for joining us in pushing the limits to deliver the best. Heartfelt thanks to each and every employee for continuing to deliver their best, continuing to learn and grow, and most of all maintaining and strengthening the team camaraderie.
